Scripture: “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” – Luke 6:45 (NIV)

The condition of our hearts determines the direction of our lives. A heart that is filled with goodness, love, and kindness reflects Christ in every word spoken and every action taken. Conversely, a heart filled with negativity, bitterness, or selfishness will inevitably lead to destruction.
A good heart is not something we are simply born with—it is cultivated through a deep and consistent relationship with God. As we spend time in His presence through prayer, worship, and studying His Word, He transforms our hearts to be more like His.
King David, a man after God’s own heart, prayed in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” This should be our daily prayer. When our hearts are pure, we naturally radiate goodness, drawing others to Christ by our example.
Why?
It Brings Peace and Joy – When we harbor goodness in our hearts, we experience the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.
It Attracts God’s Favor – Proverbs 11:25 reminds us, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
It Impacts Others – A good heart inspires, encourages, and uplifts those around us, leaving a lasting impact.
