Moses Eripu

Exodus 14:14 (KJV): “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

***

Life often presents us with battles that seem insurmountable—challenges that leave us feeling helpless and overwhelmed. We may face financial difficulties, health struggles, opposition in our workplaces, or even spiritual attacks. In such moments, we are tempted to take matters into our own hands, to fight back in our strength. However, God’s Word reminds us that we are not alone in our battles. The Lord Himself fights for us.

When the Israelites stood before the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s army pursuing them from behind, fear and doubt filled their hearts. They saw no escape. Yet, in the face of what seemed like certain defeat, God spoke through Moses: “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” This was a divine assurance that their deliverance would not come through human effort but through the mighty hand of God.

What Does This Mean for Us Today?
  1. God is Our Defender – Just as He delivered Israel from Egypt, God is still fighting for His children today. No matter what you are facing, He is working behind the scenes to bring victory.

  2. We Must Trust His Timing – The Israelites had to wait on God’s deliverance. Sometimes, we may feel like God is delaying, but His timing is always perfect.

  3. Our Role is to Be Still and Trust – Holding our peace does not mean doing nothing; it means resting in faith. We pray, obey, and trust that God is in control.

Application

Are you facing a battle today? Surrender it to the Lord. He is your defender, and He will fight for you. Instead of fear, choose faith. Instead of worry, choose worship. Stand still and watch God move on your behalf.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I surrender my battles to You. I trust in Your power and faithfulness. Help me to hold my peace and rest in the assurance that You are fighting for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
