Psalm 31:15 (KJV) – “My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.”
***
A few years ago, I found myself in a season of deep uncertainty. I had made plans, worked hard, and prayed, but things weren’t unfolding the way I expected. I had a vision for my future, yet every door I tried to walk through seemed to close in front of me. I felt stuck, wondering if God had forgotten me.
Life is at times full of uncertainties. We make plans, set goals, and have dreams, but sometimes, things do not unfold the way we expect. In these moments, it is easy to feel anxious or overwhelmed. However, Psalm 31:15 reminds us of a profound truth: our times are in God’s hands.
David, the writer of this psalm, was facing intense trials. He had enemies pursuing him and troubles surrounding him, yet he found peace in knowing that his life was securely held by God. He understood that God was not only aware of his circumstances but was actively in control of them.
God’s Sovereign Hands
When we say, “My times are in Your hands,” we acknowledge that every moment of our lives—our joys, struggles, waiting seasons, and breakthroughs—are under God’s divine control. He is never caught off guard by what happens to us.
- Times of waiting – God is working behind the scenes, preparing us for His perfect plan.
- Times of sorrow – He is our comfort and strength.
- Times of victory – He is our reason for rejoicing.
No matter what season we find ourselves in, God holds us in His loving hands. We do not need to fear the future because He is already there.
Surrendering to His Timing
It is natural to want things to happen according to our timeline, but true faith means surrendering to God’s perfect timing. Instead of worrying about what is next, we should rest in the assurance that He is guiding our steps.
Are you facing uncertainty today? Are you waiting on God for an answer, a breakthrough, or deliverance? Take heart—your times are in His hands. Trust Him, for He knows what is best for you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I surrender my times into Your hands. Help me to trust in Your perfect timing and rest in the knowledge that You are in control. Strengthen my faith in seasons of waiting and trials. I believe that Your plans for me are good, and I will trust You in every season of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
