Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV): “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Life is full of moments when we struggle to understand what God is doing. We face trials, disappointments, and unexpected turns that don’t seem to align with our plans. In those moments, we may question God, wondering why He allows certain things to happen. However, Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us of an important truth: God’s ways and thoughts are infinitely higher and wiser than ours.
God operates on an eternal scale. What seems confusing or painful to us in the present is part of His grand design, working for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28). When we surrender our need for control and trust in His sovereign wisdom, we find peace even in uncertainty.
Just as the heavens are beyond our reach, so is the full depth of God’s wisdom. Yet, He calls us to trust Him wholeheartedly. Instead of resisting His plans, we should lean into His guidance, believing that He knows what is best even when we don’t understand.
